Case Study
In 1996, Todd and a former partner successfully represented Joe and Sharon Bruemmer in a product liability case against the General Motors Corporation. The trial lasted two weeks in the City of St. Louis Circuit Court. After presenting the testimony of over twenty live witnesses, including five expert witnesses, the jury returned a verdict in favour of the Bruemmers for a total of $19.5 million. The verdict included a $3 million award for Sharon Bruemmer for injuries and damages related to her husband’s fatal catastrophic injuries, still considered one of the largest consortium verdicts in the State of Missouri.
