Tanker Truck Jackknife Results in Chemical Spill in Central Illinois

A tanker truck carrying caustic anhydrous ammonia jackknifed when another vehicle tried to pass the truck. This resulted in the tanker hitting a utility trailer parked off the highway and the tank was punctured and the chemical spilled onto the road. Those living within a mile of the crash site were evacuated and environmental contractors were called in to clean up the area.
