$19.5 Million Verdict
Product LiabilityTodd Muchnick fought against General Motors (GM) after a local utility worker was catastrophically injured by a GM truck with a defective parking brake. While GM claimed it was due to poor maintenance, Todd Muchnick and a co-counsel demonstrated that the brake design was faulty and that there had been a number of “other similar incidents” (OSIs) and at least three prior lawsuits. The client received a favorable jury verdict and was awarded $12.5 Million. His wife received a verdict for $3 million. The client also received a rare award for punitive damages in the amount of $4 million.
$5.2 Million Verdict
Personal InjuryIn April 2012, multiple individuals were severely injured and one person was killed when a temporary tent collapsed next to Busch Stadium in St. Louis. After four years of hard work, Todd Muchnick and Aaron Haber helped the trial team win a $5.2 million verdict in the second week of trial proceedings. The defense attorney fought to award nothing to the victims, claiming his clients could have done nothing to prevent the incident. Through an extensive network of experts, the trial team overcame the defense for a substantial verdict.
$3.1 Million Verdict
Personal InjuryAaron Haber and Todd Muchnick helped obtain a total verdict of $3.1 million for a death and serious injuries sustained by a family that was struck by a fleeing vehicle in a police chase. Lawsuits were filed after it was learned that an uncertified officer began pursuing a vehicle for a minor traffic violation. The surviving occupants of the vehicle sustained serious orthopedic injuries including pelvic fractures, broken legs, broken collar bones and head injuries. After more than two years of litigation, a jury returned the significant verdict for the family members who lost their mother, sister and aunt.
$2.2 Million Settlement
Wrongful DeathA 42 year-old man and his two month old child were tragically killed in a collision in St. Louis. Aaron Haber helped the team that obtained a $2.2 million settlement for the families of the deceased individuals. A lawsuit was filed against a local bar for allegedly overserving an intoxicated customer then allowing him to leave and cause a deadly collision.
$1.035 Million Settlement
Product LiabilityA thirty-seven-year-old woman was represented by Todd Muchnick for injuries to both of her hands from a defective punch-press machine. A lawsuit was filed against the punch press manufacturer alleging the product was unreasonably dangerous and defective in its design. Our retained expert witness determined the machine had a design defect and did not provide reasonable warning to users that it should be operated by one person. A $1.035 million settlement was reached 3 days before trial.
